AI, Data & Analytics Controls (ADAC): Using CDMC for AI Use Case Governance

Join us for our EDMWebinar which will cover the AI, Data & Analytics Controls (ADAC) framework, a pivotal extension of the CDMC to encompass governance for Analytics & AI use cases.

In this session, we will delve into the development of the ADAC framework, which will offer a comprehensive overview and will detail best practices and automations for managing risks within AI and Analytics platforms. ADAC builds upon the CDMC (Cloud Data Management Capabilities) industry framework, which defines the standards for effective data management, controls and automations to protect sensitive data. CDMC was developed by a consortium including EDM Council, LSEG, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, AWS, Azure, Google, and Snowflake in 2021.

Our webinar will also highlight the ADAC working group, which convenes on Mondays at 3 pm GMT / 10 am EST. This group includes representatives from financial services firms such as Standard Chartered, UBS, and JPMorgan, as well as subject matter experts from specialist AI, data, and analytics firms, including Databricks.

Making Your Cloud Investments Deliver Business Value

Cloud is the new frontier for modern analytics, applications, and AI across all industries. The migration from legacy on-premises systems to the cloud is fraught with challenges from a data management and data governance standpoint.

Success depends on having the right strategy, people, technology, and processes to ensure cloud modernization investments are completed on time, within budget, and perform to your business’s expectations. Unfortunately, too many new and existing cloud investments are at risk of not delivering business value in support of today’s most important business priorities.

Our expert speakers will discuss:

  • Why are companies investing in the cloud and what are they investing in?
  • What are the top data challenges and requirements to consider and overcome when adopting the cloud for modern applications, analytics, and AI?
  • How can the EDM Council’s Cloud Data Management Capabilities Framework (CDMC) help with new and existing cloud strategies?
  • How does Informatica support CDMC for cloud modernization?

Map & Measure Your Data Management Journey with the Data Excellence Program

A major, cross-industry gap constraining the data management function is a lack of formal recognition of data management capability at the organizational level. Without this recognition, data management typically faces significant challenges to secure funding as an ongoing program and to elevate and acknowledge the importance of data management as a core function in an organization.

Join this EDMWebinar to learn more about the EDM Council’s new Data Excellence Program – the first of its kind – for mapping your organization’s journey to measuring, achieving and sustaining data excellence and earning formal recognition.

You will learn more about the program’s key elements and benefits including:

  • Data Management Program – Establish data management as an ongoing program, rather than a singular or one-off project, with journey mapping and goal-setting for continuous, organization-wide improvement
  • Funding Support – Establish measurements and compare to peer benchmarks to assist with funding justification
  • Business Value – Strategically align your data program to your organization’s business goals
  • Trusted Data – Assure data quality, security, governance, compliance, and ethical use of data
  • Global Recognition – Earn formal industry recognition for your organization’s ongoing commitment to data excellence

Meet some of the Founders of the Data Excellence Program who will discuss why they support the program and delve into the current and future value they expect to deliver to their own organizations!

Automating CDMC key controls with BigID: Perspectives from LSEG

Forthcoming AI frameworks and privacy laws in the US and Europe on the responsible and ethical use of data are shaping organization’s data management practices. Control frameworks such as EDM Council’s Cloud Data Management Capabilities (CDMC) help companies stay ahead of regulations and demonstrate independent data compliance. By automating cataloging and classification capabilities that help to secure and protect their data, companies can build guardrail controls to ensure trusted data is utilized for AI models and sensitive data is protected in automated decision technologies.

Attend this session with LSEG, BigID and Projective Group to learn why LSEG is staying ahead of the data curve by adopting the CDMC framework.

During this session, you will:

  • Learn the strategic importance of aligning technology and industry leading frameworks.
  • Hear from Peggy Tsai on why BigID partnered with Projective Group to certify BigID on the EDM Council, Cloud Data Management Capabilities (CDMC).
  • Hear from Scott Beange from Projective Group who will share his insights on the value Projective has realized from the EDM Council partnership.
  • Dive into the CDMC certification process and the validation of the CDMC 14 key controls with Stephen Gatchell from BigID and Shobana Ragothaman from Projective
  • Learn key controls around AI from Oli Bage at LSEG that utilized the CDMC key controls as a foundation.

Designing and Managing Data Products

Although not a new concept, data products have been the subject of much attention and debate in recent times. Discussion, proposals, and opinions on what a data product is, what the benefits of data products might be and who can benefit are typical topics in this discourse. Clear answers to such questions have not been obviously evident. Perhaps what can be agreed is that good quality data assets are key to the success of every organization, and that treating a data asset like a product will increase its quality, its value and its utility both for producers and consumers of data. Within the EDM Council Data Products SIG we have been exploring this approach to develop a sound basis for designing and managing data products.

The EDM Council Data Products SIG has been running since early 2023. Beyond defining what we consider to be key criteria for data products, our objectives have been aimed at establishing and embedding data products within organizations to fully realise their worth. To achieve this we have borrowed from product thinking, proposed a life cycle and developed a conceptual metadata structure for data products. We have also used the Council’s method of providing advice, questions and prompts for data and data products practioners as well as providing key candidate artifacts that provide the basis for designing and managing data products.

This is an interim report from this SIG, which is expected to continue to develop and refine its understanding of data products. We also realise that data products will thrive within a wider context that includes data marketplaces and other product infrastructure. These two themes are part of the upcoming work for the SIG in 2024.
