John A Bottega
John Bottega began working with the EDM Council as an industry contributor in 2005 and served as Chairman from 2007 to 2014. He joined the Council’s executive team as a Senior Advisor in 2014 and took over as Executive Director of the EDM Council in 2017.
John is a senior strategy and data management executive with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. Over his career, John has served as Chief Data Officer in both the private and public sectors, serving as CDO for Citi and Bank of America, as well as for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Head of Industry Engagement
Mike is a Co-Founder of the EDM Council and served as the first Chairman and active Board member since inception in 2005. Mike joined in 2015 as a Senior Advisor to lead Industry Engagement strategy, new member services and operations guidance in support of adoption of strategic work products.
Previously, Mike was the CEO of GoldenSource and held key executive roles at CheckFree (Fiserv), D&B and Oracle.

Carole Mahoney is an experienced data management professional with over 30 years in data and data management systems. Since 2008, Carole has managed the operational support of the EDM Council business and its member firms. Carole is responsible for event logistics, membership matters, invoicing, payments and payroll, web access and maintenance.
Best Practice & Process Management
Mark McQueen is the best practice and process management expert for the EDM Council. He joined the Council in 2016 and now leads the Best Practice Program to develop Data Management industry standard processes for executing the DCAM™ Capability Framework. Mark has over 20 years with a Fortune 25 GSIB where he was the business Data Management Executive for the Wholesale Bank. In addition to Best Practice Program facilitation, he provides training and EDMC Advisory Services related to adoption and execution of the DCAM™ Capability Framework in member organizations.
Mark is DCAM Foundations and Applied accredited, Six Sigma Black Belt Certified, and Strategic Foresight Certified - University of Houston.
Mark is Partner of Ortecha, a DCAM Authorized Partner data management consultancy.
Senior Advisor for Platforms and Member Services
Mark joined the Council in 2017 and is currently Senior Advisor for Platforms and Member Services. In this capacity, Mark works with council members, staff and our partners to apply innovative technologies in support of the council’s focus areas. His recent accomplishments include the successful launch of the council’s new web platform – EDMConnect.
Prior to joining the Council, Mark was the Chief Operating Officer of the GoldenSource Corporation for 10 years. He has also held numerous senior management positions in technology, operations and general management spanning both private and public companies

Mike is the semantics expert and ontologist for the EDM Council. He is the architect and editor of the Semantics Repository and represents the Council within the ISO technical standards committees. He has over 20 years of financial industry experience with investment management software, data management systems design, messaging standards, product testing and project management. Mike provides technical and data mapping consultation to Council members and is well-regarded as both a resource and frequent speaker within the semantics community.

Preeti is the Regional Advocate for India. She has 20 years of pan India and Overseas experience in business development, strategic alliance, customer relationship and training in various industries ranging from IT & ITES, Finance, Education, Startup & Skills Ecosystem.
Preeti is supporting the Council with membership activities and bringing high-quality data management best practices, training and eLearning certification programs to the Indian region.
EMEA Regional Advocate
Colin is a senior executive and consultant with 30 years’ experience in financial services. He specialises in architecture, data governance and data management, most recently as head of data architecture for the investment banking divisions of RBS and HSBC and as head of enterprise architecture for Willis Towers Watson.
Colin combines an enthusiasm for all things data with experience in software development, technology operations and management of major change programmes.
APAC Regional Advocate
David is the Regional Advocate and evangelist for the Asia Pacific (APAC) Region. David has over 20 years of enterprise solutions and data management experience supporting Financial Institutions and Large Enterprises cross Industry.
David is based in Singapore and will assist the EDM Council on a part-time basis with membership activities and initiatives in the APAC region.

Australia & New Zealand
Michael is a Regional Advocate for the Asia Pacific (APAC) Region. Michael is passionate about all things data and has spent his career working in the data & analytics domain for companies in Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
Michael is based in Sydney, Australia where he works as an independent data management consultant. Michael assists the EDM Council on a part-time basis and provides on the ground support to our Australian and New Zealand membership.
FIBO Project Manager
Robert Trypuz graduated from the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (Poland). He obtained the PhD in Informatics and Telecommunication from the University of Trento (Italy).
Professor Trypuz is active in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Semantic Web technologies for automotive and financial industries. He was involved in the creation of the automotive and financial extensions for Schema.org. He was also responsible for the creation of intelligent search engines taking advantage of the most advanced NLP and semantic technologies.
Recently he has been working on applying Hyperledger technology to the digital identification purposes and using ontologies for the creation of the supervisory reporting concept dictionary with the aid of the machine learning techniques.
Senior FIBO Advisor
Dean Allemang has over 20 years of research and deployment of semantic solutions, including expert systems, knowledge management systems, rule-base systems.
Dean has been interested for most of his career in how knowledge can be formalized and used to improve how people do their work. Nowadays, this is being manifest in Semantic Web solutions, combining the power of the World Wide Web and knowledge representation technologies to help communities improve how they manage knowledge.
Dean specializes in Semantic Web consulting and training. He has been an invited keynote speaker at several Semantic Web conferences.
Senior FIBO Advisor
Elisa Kendall has over 30 years professional experience in the design, development and deployment of enterprise-scale information management systems for communications, high technology, and aerospace applications. Her background includes many years in applied research in knowledge representation and ontology design, information architecture, complex event processing, and knowledge based systems development.
Ms. Kendall is principal architect of a UML-based ontology analysis, development and application deployment framework, and has developed rigorous methodologies for domain assessment supporting ontology development.
Ms. Kendall brings deep experience in large-scale, complex taxonomy, ontology and knowledge-based systems development. She is co-editor of the Ontology Definition Metamodel (ODM) and an active participant in the ISO JTC1 SC32 WG2 working group.
Kate Edwards provides administrative support to the EDM Council and is available as first line of support for all member activities. Kate is the newest member of the operations team, having worked with EDMC since early 2017, and brings with her a wealth of operational and customer service experience and skills. She has worked in management roles for both public and private sector companies.
Mandy Bloomfield provides booking keeping and credit control support to the EDM Council.
