Developed by EDM Council members, DCAM™ – the Data Management Capability Assessment Model – is the industry standard framework for Data Management. DCAM defines the scope of capabilities required to establish, enable and sustain a mature Data Management discipline.
The EDM Council provides training on the requirements for sustainable data management as defined by DCAM. Training participants are exposed to the rationale behind the DCAM capabilities including how to apply the DCAM scoring methodology to consistently evaluate data management capability. The Virtual DCAM classes now also include the 8th Component in DCAM for Analytics Best Practice, which was added in DCAM v2.2. Students who successfully complete DCAM training and pass the exam will receive a DCAM Certified badge through our verified badging system.
DCAM defines the core criteria needed for the development and implementation of a practical data management initiative. The training curricula covers over 100 data management capabilities organized into the eight core components defined below. Each component is supported by a series of requirement statements including specific objectives, implementation advice and sample artifacts needed for verification of achievement. The formal program is supported by examples and vignettes designed to provide guidance for real world implementation.
The on-demand DCAM eLearning course covers the same content as our other DCAM training programs, including all eight components and sub-components of DCAM v2. Earn industry-recognized DCAM Certification by passing the online examination.
