Join EDM Council for DataVision, our global, in-person event series. Learn from industry experts and practitioners – and network with your peers – at this half-day, thought-provoking conference as we explore critical data management and advanced analytics topics. The Toronto DataVision event is being held primarily in person, with the option to attend virtually. For in-person attendance, this event has limited capacity reserved for the data management community. Should the event become fully subscribed, the EDM Council reserves the right to limit the number of delegates per firm attending in person and/or to prioritize tickets for participants from EDM Council member organizations. This may require canceling some in-person registrations in excess of the per company or non-members limit, or if registrations are not from the data management professional community. If an in-person ticket is not available, you will be offered a virtual option. Tickets for students are extremely limited. The purpose of this policy is to ensure a diverse member audience with a mix of data professionals across institutions/corporations, the public sector, vendors, consultants, and others. Therefore, please ensure that your registration is confirmed before booking any travel.

The purpose of the Keynote is to furnish Canadian entities with a comprehensive overview of the European Union (EU) Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act. Noemi and Preeti will engage in a discussion pertaining to the regulatory environment surrounding AI, encompassing both cross-sector and sector-specific regulations. Furthermore, they will present a principle-based framework that prioritizes innovation and clarify how it applies to the regulation of AI systems under the EU AI Act. This framework will showcase different AI use cases and expound upon the key requirements and transparency obligations that must be adhered to.
