Peter Serenita is the US Chief Data Officer for Scotiabank, responsible for defining and implementing a data management capability to improve data quality and leverage data for business enablement.
Prior to joining the Scotiabank, Peter was the Group Chief Data Officer and was responsible for the data management and analytics practices across all businesses and global functions at HSBC, focusing on improving data consistency across the firm. Previously, Peter was a 28-year veteran of JPMorgan having held several key positions in business and information technology including the role of Chief Data Officer of the Worldwide Securities division.
Mr. Serenita holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from New York University.
SVP, EDM Governance Executive
Mary Riley joined Bank of America in 2002 and currently serves as the Enterprise Data Management Governance Executive. She has held a diverse set of leadership roles including Enterprise Operational Risk Executive; Technology, Operations and Control Functions Risk Executive; Client Fulfillment Executive for Global Commercial Banking and executive roles in information security and business continuity.
Prior to this Riley spent 13 years with the United States Secret Service, including the role of special agent in charge of the Electronic Crimes Branch where she pioneered federal law enforcement’s approach to global high-tech and financial crime investigations.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Management and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the McColl School of Business at Queens University.
Chief Data Governance Officer
John Fleming is a global information technology and brokerage operations professional with extensive expertise in developing and managing enterprise-level strategic initiatives. He is the Chief Data Governance Officer for BNY Mellon.
John has lived abroad and managed teams of over 400, across Asia, Europe and the Americas. He has worked for CIT, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and has numerous professional affiliations.
John earned his degree at Bernard M. Baruch College in New York City with a major in Information Processing and a Minor in International Business.
Global Head, IDMS
Preetham is Vice President and Global Head of Integrated Data Management Services (IDMS), at Capgemini Business Services.
He is a regular speaker at key reference data events, and has been instrumental in driving new business models in data management and evolving new solutions in the data industry.
His experience encompasses M&A and Private Equity placements for technology start-ups and consulting.
Preetham holds a double masters degree in Finance and Management and has won key awards previously at IGATE, HCL and Ernst and Young.
Ari Marcus is a Managing Director in Citigroup’s Institutional Clients Group Operations and Technology, with over 20 years of experience in Finance.
Prior to joining Citi, Ari held senior reference data and program management positions at Credit Suisse, Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers.
Ari earned an MBA in Finance & Accounting from NYU’s Stern School of Business and a BA in International Relations from Colgate University.
Adrian Pearce joined Credit Suisse in 2009 and has had senior roles across the UK and US. He is currently a Managing Director and Group Chief Data Officer (CDO), based in Zurich.
Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Adrian held the position of Global Head of FID IT at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he worked for 13 years in a number of roles across Operations, Front Office and Technology.
Adrian holds a PhD from the Institut Laue-Langevin Grenoble, University of Warwick and a First Class Honours Degree from University of Hull.
Head of Data Governance
John has over 25 years experience of financial services and technology, risk management, regulation, data management and analytics. Currently head of Data Governance at Deutsche Bank. Former positions include working within Risk Advisory at both Deloitte and Ernst & Young.
John is currently an Executive Director of EDM at DTCC, responsible for Data Governance and EDM Program Management. While at DTCC he has held several data management related roles including responsibility for data administration, decision support, architecture and product management of master data.
John has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Boston College and worked as a software engineer and data base administrator for several firms before joining the DTCC in 1995.
Chief Executive Officer
John has more than 25 years of experience in trading, capital markets, financial technology, business management, software development, strategic partnerships and corporate start-ups. He is responsible for the strategic vision, overall management and business leadership of GoldenSource Corporation. Prior to joining GoldenSource, John was President and CEO of Pivot, Inc., Hotspot FX, Inc., and was the CFO of OnExchange. He has also worked in a variety of senior positions with Cantor Fitzgerald/eSpeed and Citibank.
John serves as an outside board member and/or advisor to several private companies and is an adjunct professor at the Columbia University School of Public Policy.
Simon Clarke is head of transaction data governance for Goldman Sachs’ capital markets businesses. Simon has spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs in a variety of Operations management positions as well as leading significant market structure and regulatory change initiatives.
Chief Data Officer
Rakshit is responsible for continuing the development and implementation of HSBC’s Data & Analytics strategy, focusing on how they gather, manage, analyse and use the Group’s data. He joined HSBC from Travelers group in the US where he had overall responsibility for Data Strategy and Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Cognitive/Robotic Process Automation.
Prior to this Rakshit held a senior role at JPMorgan Chase in New York, working on the development of a world-class capability for data analytics across all the lines of business in the US consumer bank. He has also had senior roles with TIAA-CREF, Avaya, and Oracle spanning over 20 years.
Rakshit has a Bachelors in Engineering, and graduate degrees in Masters in Information Systems and Masters of Business Administration.
VP, Global Financial Markets Director
Keith is responsible globally for the strategy and development of IBM’s business in Financial Markets, which is a multi-billion dollar business for IBM. He works extensively with global clients on their major transformation programmes, which typically are on the cutting edge of shaping IBM’s content and offerings for the Financial Markets industry. He has worked extensively with financial markets infrastructure firms and leading global banks on their plans for deploying Blockchain.
Director of Data Management
Julian is responsible for the delivery of data capability at M&G and supporting the Prudential business with the main areas of focus including Data Content Management, Valuations (c.£270bn), Market Data Services, Data Governance and Data Services.
He has been at M&G for 18 years undertaking a number of roles including Head of Front Office Operations and Global Market Data responsibilities. Julian has sponsored a number of key projects including developing Data Governance Policy and standards for both M&G and the Prudential globally; the implementation of a consolidated data sourcing and the implementation of systems to increasing efficiency and consistency of data across the organisation.
He has completed the M&G Cornerstone Leadership Program – Ashridge and Prudential Global Agility Leadership Program – Oxford Saïd Business School.
Managing Director; Data Governance
Richard has been at Morgan Stanley since 2005 and is currently the Managing Director. He has dual roles in Finance Change Management and Firm-wide Data Governance programs:
Head, Enterprise Data Governance Office (2013 - present) and Portfolio Director, Finance Change Management (2013 – present). Within these roles Richard has been responsible for facilitating and implementing new firmwide Data Governance policy.

Carmine joined Nordea in November 2016 and is now head of Group Data Management Office, Group Chief Data Officer & Chief Data Scientist.
He has 20 years of experience in Data Systems, Data Science, Data Governance, Operations, Design of Experiments, Machine Learning, Statistical Modelling, Intelligent Recommendation Systems, Digital Analytics, Experience and Quality Testing. Carmine has spent over 10 years working at Massachusetts Institute of Technology as: Vis. Associate Professor Civil Engineering, Intelligent Transportation System Lab; Vis. Scientist & Research Affiliate, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence LAB; Lecturer at Prof.Executive Educations in Discrete Choice Models and Et. Associate Professor Statistics, Copenhagen Business School.
He has also won several awards including: Tuburg Carlsberg Foundation Economic and Business Prize; Finalist Best Ideas in Marketing, The Economist Media Convergence Summit, NY and best employee at Disneyland Paris.
Senior Vice President - Enterprise Data Services & Governance
Ranjana joined Northern Trust in January 2015 and is the Chief Data Officer. She also leads the Enterprise Data organization and supports all the key transformation programs within the Bank. Ranjana has previously held senior roles at Deloitte and Capgemini.
Senior Director, Head of Data Management Practice
Gavin is the Global Head of Data Management and Sapient Synapse at Sapient Consulting, part of Publicis Groupe. He leads a practice of more than 600 data practitioners delivering services across all areas of data management from governance to technology delivery. He provides advisory consulting services to executive stakeholders, on their data strategy and program execution.
Prior to Sapient Gavin worked for Thomson Reuters as their Global Head of Product Management for EDM. Gavin has led multiple offerings through their product lifecycle, ranging from Human Workflow & BI, BPMS/ESB and Master Data Management (MDM) software, specializing in financial services data.
Managing Director, Head of Data Management
Donna is the Chief Data Officer at RBC Capital Markets, and is focused on advancing Data Strategy and Governance, operationalizing data management best practices and driving a change programme that will help mature the organization across all dimensions of information management.
She has previously held senior roles at CPP Investment Board and Merrill Lynch HSBC.
Scott J. Preiss is Managing Director & Global Head, CUSIP Global Services / S&P Global Market Intelligence, which operates the CUSIP coding system and the CUSIP International Numbering System (CINS) for the United States, Canada, and various global territories under contract to the American Bankers Association. Under Scott’s direction, CUSIP Global Services is responsible for the development and operation of the ANNA Service Bureau, a central hub for the consolidation and distribution of ISIN data from >120 global markets, and jointly operated with SixInformation, Zurich.
Scott has been actively involved in the industry’s effort to standardize legal entities, securities descriptive data and product classifications, and has chaired the ANSI-accredited standards group X9D in that regard.
Scott regularly lectures on standardization, reference data, regulation and risk management, both in the U.S. and globally. He has a BBA in Business/Finance from Pace University, NY, and a J.D. from New york Law School.
Senior Vice President, Global Head of Data Governance
John is Head of Enterprise Data Governance for State Street, reporting to the Chief Data Officer. He is responsible for strategic leadership, design and implementation of global cross enterprise data governance solutions and business operations.
He has worked for State Street for over 20 years and has held several senior roles.
John has an MBA in Strategic Technology Management & Organisational Design, and a BA in Economics.
Head of Product Management, Enterprise Content & Delivery
Steve Goldstein recently joined Thomson Reuters as Head of Product Management, Enterprise Content & Delivery, based in New York City.
Previously Steve was co-founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Alacra, a company started in 1996 to sell and re-distribute licensed business information over the internet. Once established, Alacra expanded by building reference data and regulatory compliance workflow solutions for financial institutions and professional services firms. Alacra was acquired by Opus, a PE-backed compliance technology platform, in 2015. Steve was Vice Chairman of Opus until early 2017.
Christophe joined Swiss Bank Corporation in 1996 as product manager for electronic banking. In the 20 plus years with UBS, he has worked with Operations, HR & Technology, based in Basel, Zürich, NY, London and Singapore.
After returning from Singapore in 2012 (having built up the integrated service desks for application and end-user support), he became the Global Head of Operations IT within the newly formed Group Technology team. Christophe took on service line responsibility for data in April 2015.
Christophe was born in Belgium, but moved to Zurich to complete his studies in computer engineering in 1996. He enjoys gym, snowboarding, Muay Thai, spending time with family and travelling.
Senior Vice President, Manager
David provides leadership and expertise for the advancement of machine intelligence based data strategies, capabilities, and technologies for Wells Fargo. David’s team develops and prototypes innovations that employ various AI technologies for business value, which includes semantic web technology, machine and deep learning, and natural language processing.
David founded and leads the Wells Fargo Machine Intelligence Community of Interest.
David also chairs the EDM Council’s FIBO initiative.
