The mission of the Women Data Professionals group is to provide support for and promote women in the field of data and assist in their development and promotion to more senior roles.

Thank you to all who submitted applications to participate in this year’s  Mentoring Program!  This program has a proven track record of lasting impact on past participants, empowering them to excel in their career. See what former participants shared about their experience:

The WDP Mentoring Program provides an environment of trust and candid dialogue where professionals can delve into professional challenges. With the guidance of mentors and peers, mentees gain insights on how to navigate, respond, and steer towards positive outcomes. We are so pleased to offer this opportunity to ALL women data professionals – whether or not you are a member of the EDM Council’s Women Data Professionals group.

Program Details:
The Program will assemble small, virtual teams of mentees and mentors, meeting four times from March to June. The program will culminate in a wrap-up event in June where all participants are welcome to share thoughts, feedback, and ideas for future programs.

Recordings Available: Women Data Leaders' Global Summit – November 2023

THANK YOU to all who participated in our summit in November 2023! CDO Magazine and the EDM Council’s Women Data Professionals  presented the 3rd annual Women Data Leaders’ Global Summit – made by women data professionals and open to ALL. Over 1800 professionals from around the world registered for the event.

Our keynote and panel sessions focused on our theme of the New Era of AI: Transforming Data Into ROI. The world of data and AI are moving fast and are critical topics for today’s leaders in any industry. But the key is understanding how data, analytics and AI can drive mission success in any organization.

Spotlight Interview

The Women Data Professionals team was pleased to interview Dr. Manuela Veloso. She is the Head of AI Research at J.P. Morgan, and a well-known, award-winning international expert in AI with extensive experience in academia, currently serving as Herbert A. Simon the University Professor Emerita at Carnegie Mellon University. Watch the video interview of Dr. Veloso with Dr. Salla Franzen and Dr. Archana P. Lamichhane, where they discuss the role of research within business and finance, opportunities for generative AI to complement human expertise, machine learning and machine teaching, and the role of data within the wide realm of AI and knowledge.

There are many opportunities to get involved, whether you are seeking guidance, providing your perspective or professional support, or just looking to connect and expand your network.

The group’s dedicated area within EDMConnect (our online portal) provides a central location for information exchange and collaboration:

  • Join our online discussions on relevant topics
  • Contribute to our blog with your thoughts and ideas
  • Access educational and other material in a virtual library
  • Attend our calendar of events, highlighting where our members are participating
  • Find contacts in the group directory and network with them
  • Participate as a mentor or mentee in our Mentoring Program (see below)

The group is global. We are organized into regional chapters – Americas, EMEA and APAC – and we also have committees that look after different initiatives and activities. Leadership positions are also available.
