Join us April 24th for a fireside-style conversation with John Walsh, former Chief Data Officer at both DND/CAF and Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). John will share his experiences building data strategies within complex public sector institutions, lessons learned in operationalizing data governance, and how to move from vision to execution while navigating evolving mandates and resourcing realities.
We look forward to seeing you on the 24th and continuing to grow this Canadian data community together.
Recap: Canada Regional Forum March 5, 2025
At our last session, we were thrilled to have Morgan Templer explain the AI, Data & Analytics Capabilities (ADAC) Framework, highlighting how it builds on the CDMC model to prepare organizations for AI innovation, governance, and global regulatory alignment.
Highlights from our last session:
- ADAC expands CDMC to include ethical use of AI, privacy impact assessments, and model quality controls—key for both compliance and trust in AI systems.
- The framework was mapped to global standards like the NIST AI RMF and EU AI Act, with plans to map to OSFI’s E-23 (and more Canadian regulations).
- Major tech platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, and Informatica are already certified on ADAC, making it easier for your orgs to adopt these principles today.
- Emphasis was placed on starting with data foundations—clean, observable, and governed data is essential before scaling into advanced analytics and AI.
