Program of Work

Financial Industry Business Ontology  (FIBO)™

FIBO™ is the open industry “common language” standard for defining the terms, facts and relationships associated with financial contracts.  FIBO™ covers financial instruments (product reference data), market data pricing and financial processes.

Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM)™

DCAM™ is the documentation of the capabilities and best practices required to establish a sustainable data management program.  The model was created based on the collective experience of data practitioners across the global financial information industry.  It focuses on the practical capabilities needed to ensure trust and confidence in data content as a factor of input into business processes.  Version 1.2.1 is now available for EDM Council members for internal use without additional fees. The content and scoring methodology are also available via license for use in data management program assessments.

Data Management Regulation

The EDM Council is a trusted subject matter expert on the issues associated with data management.  We provide consultation and advice to members, regulators and market authorities on the data implications associated with legislative and regulatory obligations.  Our goal is to help all financial industry participants understand the practical data and standards implications associated with legislative and regulatory requirements.
